The ChallengeReduce the volume of return-to-shelf (RTS) prescriptions costing the chain significant expense in lost revenues and staff inefficiencies. MarkeTouch Media proposed a cost-effective voice messaging application designed to deliver customized reminder messages to pharmacy customers while also increasing customer loyalty and their affinity for the local pharmacy.
The ApproachWorking through a dedicated account manager, MarkeTouch Media identified two unique target groups: customers whose prescriptions had just been filled and not picked up, and those whose prescriptions would be returned to shelf within two to three days. Both the Prescription Ready Notification and Return to Shelf Reminder campaigns drove customers to their local pharmacy through friendly, customer service-oriented voice messages. Scripts were recorded by professional voice talent in a local dialect to appeal to the customers’ sensibilities and deliver a truly personalized message. Unique messages were delivered to both live respondents and answering machines to maximize response. Each recorded message delivered customized information including pharmacy name, address and telephone number. Additionally, the phone number displayed on a customer’s caller ID display matched the number recorded in the message, to simplify a return call, if necessary.
The ResultRxTouch offered immediate measurable results for the client, reducing RTS prescriptions by more than 52 percent. Further reductions in operational inefficiencies gave overburdened pharmacy staff more opportunity to counsel patients and increase the quality of services provided.
